I know that there are a lot of Wude in the fucking martial art.

But really.

Gon - Everyday, without neglect, to keep training
Dan - Be brave and stay calm to make the right decision
Jie - Judge yourself without conceit and do not show moves thoughtlessly
Yi - To act without hesitation, to do what is right

Shouldn't be Jie constructed into two ?

That might be a gamedesign choice, and even a philosophical one.

But I feel like there is some explanation that shouldn't be there, the same with YI, in reality act without hesitation is not the same to do "what is right", there's quite a gap there.

I feel there's some disconnect there:

Gon: without neglect keep training.
Dan": Stay calm to make the right decision.
YI: Act without hesitation.

There we have some wonky stuff.

But also I think we've talked about it here before.

So let's say: are the 4 carinal points cardinal ?

If they're absolutes that every martial artist should live by then they should all be one.

I think it's because the two parts of the sentences refer to the same philosophical concept :

Acting without conceit implies not showing off
The sentence is somehow clarifying what kind of thing "Act without conceit" means

For the Yi, I think that the idea is :
If you follow your heart, then you naturally do what is right.
It's the idea that humans are good in nature and so, naturally, act "right" (as in "doing good things").
So, acting without giving second thoughts means doing a right thing.

And, so it is why I think some of the wude are in two parts.
It's to highlight the idea behind their meaning.

Another reason might be some poetic sonority in Chinese,
that make them easier to remember, but I'm not knowledgeable in Chinese, at all,
so it's only an hypothesis of mine, here.

To separate the two parts of this statement would change its meaning. If you simply say "to act without hesitation" that could be taken as merely being impulsive without regard to what is right or wrong. And to simply say "to do what is right" removes the immediacy of the action; as Martin Luther King, Jr. noted, in the realm of human experience, there is such a thing as "too late."

Another way to phrase it in a more unified way might be to say "to do what is right without hesitation."

Bingo!

I literally have based my life (well, the character and attitude part of it, anyway) on Yi;

It is basicaly saying that you should not hesitate and mull over a good or bad decision; you should know the right way to act and do it as calmly and quickly as possible.

As what is written above, if you do not make the right choice fast enough because of hesitation, it may be too late.

Love Yi

This is pretty deep for a video game forum... :-k pretty deep indeed... =D> But I have to agree with the other responses as well. It should stay as it is. But it is not something some people would get right off, you have to think about it, maybe even read it on paper, opposed to simply being told during gameplay.
