Too good to be true ! going no where anyways i used to see this forum like 6 years ago when i was looking for shenmue 3 news..still at the same place really exept a few rumours for a port ! shocking !!

I do think one of the main reasons is if they introduce the series to a new audience, they would be left with the same cliffhanger we were. I'm thinking it's riding on Shenmue III getting a greenlight, then they'd release the HD remakes.

Which means the HD remakes are more likely to never see the light of day then.

Duje Nukem was always in development. As far as we know SIII never got past the discussion stage.Japan did finally get Mother 3 even after the N64 game was canned.

I'm sure they made some developments. Just look at the Niao Sun artwork and vid, the secret files on the Shenmue II disc, yu suzuki's finished storyline, etc. It's not like they don't even have a clue where the game is going.

Yeah there is that but still all in discussion. Duke Nukem was deep in development in back in 2001 as every few years they showed off new footage. I'm willing to bet not a single polygon has been created for Shenmue III in game form. Closest to that was more likely SO.

I'm still dumbfounded by them not doing Shenmue III and instead move on to Shenmue Online. All that time spent on SO coulda went to SIII.

Well considering it was outsourced to some chinese studios and Sega didnt really invest much into it at all, it made sense to be used as a cash cow. Im indifferent about Shenmue Online. It was a waste of time at the most.
