Doesn't look good on our end with Shenmue Master, as David hasn't been able to reach the organizers from this Monaco show.

Too bad that Yu isn't like Hideo as was mentioned in another thread. It could give the series a boost by making it interesting to a new audience. People could then ask questions about Iwao possibly coming back. Maybe with his brains being hooked to a machine while Inesan is off to China to take care of things. Actually, Chai could also return but only his arm, attached to Dou Niu and controlling him.

Here are the times of Yu's scheduled talks at the convention:
LOCAL TIME (Monaco):
Saturday - 13:30 to 14:30
Sunday - 16:00 to 17:00

GREENWICH MEAN TIME (Britain):
Saturday - 12:30 to 13:30
Sunday - 15:00 to 16:00

EASTERN STANDARD TIME (parts of the Americas):
Saturday - 07:30 to 08:30
Sunday - 10:00 to 11:00

You can figure out the time difference where you are using this page: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_MC.aspx

While information is scarce, we're hoping footage of these talks will be streamed online here: http://www.twitch.tv/mediagen

Sorry for the late notice, but the first appearance starts in five minutes. Whether the stream will actually work is anybody's guess.

If it makes you feel any better, the stream didn't start working until 15-20 minutes after Yu's session had finished.

At the moment I'm in Monaco, actually a place nearby.

I Was the 5th person to get my items signed.

Yu was extremely friendly. His eyes where twinkling when he saw my huge Shenmue box ;)
When I'm right, there was no "Yu talk" today. Only tomorrow (sunday) 1600 local time.

Unfortunatelly I have a crappy internetcommection. No uploads, sorry. Pictures later!

"Monaco Television asked me for an interview"

Lady: "So, you came especially from The Netherlands to see the Monaco Anime and Games Show"
Me: "No, for Yu Suzuki, and let him sign my stuff"
Lady: "Why is he so important"
Me: "Because he made Shenmue"

Hope it will be broadcasted soon, and maybe we get some new Shenmue lovers ;)

If not for the language barrier I'd have suggested somebody ask him to write the hashtag (#GiveYuTheShenmueLicense) as part of his autograph for them. But that would be a difficult request to communicate even with an interpreter present.

Congrats rdk, sounds great! So Yu hasn't given his talk yet then? I think opportunities like this for people like you to show Yu that real people are still huge Shenmue fans, are great. I don't get the feeling that Yu is particularly "tuned in" to the internet, and least of all the English speaking parts of it, and so can't really have a much of an idea of what Shenmue's fandom is like. Sure he always get the journalist asking about it, but that's not the same as meeting regular gamers who still passionate about Shenmue over a decade later.

Yu has some white papers with him. He writes:
Yu Suzuki
To

then he asks you to write a name, and Yu rewrite it.
So what you mention is possible!
Yu Suzuki
To
#GiveYuTheShenmueLicense

About the fact that we (Shenmue lovers) keep supporting Yu is great! I'm sure he will understand!

What he signed today:
Loads of Shenmue 1 & 2 DC copies
3 dreamcasts (lid)
1 Shenmue Dreamcast Box
1 xbox Shenmue 2 booklet
1 Saturn
1 dreamcast controller
1 arcade pamflet (think afterburner)
Some megadrive games
Some pix 'n love books (available on the show)
Some visitors guides (from the show with his picture)
White papers with his autograph

The stuff I mentioned is the stuff he signed durinh the 60 minute session.

I "only" took a dreamcast and a box.

Checked it in on the airport as my cabin luggage.
