Really? Assuming you're thinking of the MAGS stage interview, you're the first one I've known to interpret it that way. He just seemed confused about the rumor and said it would be up to Sega to do something like that if they wanted to.

I see a Digital release of Shenmue 1 and 2 in HD on the PSN, Xbox live, And Wii u Eshop! then if those sales are good (which they will be) i bet they say something about shenmue 3!

I wouldn't base the chances of a sequel on the distribution of an ancient game via digital distribution. If that's the case, the demand would not be met. It'll come outright or as a full remake, however classic releases will have nothing to do with it. They may help the funds, though couldn't and shouldn't be a deciding factor. The new titles overall quality and production value would have to sell itself, nothing more.

Isn't it conspicuous that out of all the positive news Shenmue has received in recent months, one critical and mean CRITICAL detail that people fail to mention is that Corey Marshall is back in the studio working on an "untitled project". I think this is telling since Corey has not worked on a video game since Shenmue. Which further shows hint of either Shenmue III coming or a remake of the entire series which is also plausible.
