Sumo are the kings of good fanservice.
Ryo ridding an Outrun cabinet is hilarious and so cool.
Yu Suzuki double tribute right there, and it makes so much sense, and looks so good on the context of this game.

I'm just going to buy the DLC to support Shenmue but I really don't like this game at all. I only played it for two days and I was bored of it.

Should be possible but what's the point? Just to show interest in Shenmue? You would do better supportwise if you'd also buy the game. Gives Sega a bit of money for Shenmue III.

Possible on PS3 (can't talk for Xbox) as you'd have the option just buy the add-on separately. I'm not sure if it's possible on Steam, though.

Yeah but Sega would see that money go towards another stellar sonic title. I think it makes more of a statement simply buying the DLC to show support for Shenmue. I have absolutely no interest in the actual game.

Yeah, you can do it on Xbox 360. I've bought DLC for games I don't have a few times, but only when they're on offer and I plan on getting the game anyway.
