It's Lelouch from Gaf. Yeah, we were just discussing the possibility of someone asking Yu and Cerny directly about Shenmue.

Shenmue is my most beloved game out there and I'm freaking anxious to know every single detail about the series, I hope this post mortem delivers

Here's a question I'm wondering. The photo with Yu Suzuki and Mark Cerny popped up online on March 29, 2013. Let's say at that time that was the meeting(with Sega involved of course) that gave Shenmue 3 the greenlight(and I'm not saying it is, I'm just theorizing). Would the GDC postmortem be too soon if they were going to announce the game? I have absolutely no knowledge of the workflow/time table of creating a video game. How long is it typically from greenlight to announcement or from greenlight to first official footage/teaser trailer?

From the starting point a year is not that much for a really big project but with Shenmue III they don't have to start from scratch. There's so much stuff already established since many years so I'd say it's enough time to at least be able to show some early footage and that they can say that it's going to come out in late 2015 or something like that.
