Shenmue Dojo

The much anticipated Shenmue postmortem will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 2pm (PST). GDC 2014 will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. This is huge. He always deflects answers for Shenmue-related questions, and here he will be talking about it exclusively about it for an hour- translated by the architect of the PS4.

Even if there isn't a word about the potential future of Shenmue, this at the very least will be a fascinating dialogue into what brought this game to light in the first place.

I can't wait for this! Hopefully it coincides with an HD remake and/or Shenmue 3 announcement.

something is up. When was the last time anyone did a postmortem for a game? I could see this turning favorable very quickly, we shall see.

2013. It's a GDC fixture, not an idea that's been broken out specially for Shenmue. It's amongst several this year:

It's been pointed out on Facebook that San Francisco will actually be in daylight savings time by the 19th, so all international time zone comparisons should be made with PDT, not PST.

The UK for example doesn't enter daylight savings until later in the month, so the postmortem begins at 9pm there instead of the previously thought 10pm.

I'm sure this has been posted here, since it's Ziming's, but I'd never seen it.

Mans is so hype for this. Do you remember when that guy came to the forum and told us he was going to interview a developer who worked on the game (I still don't know what to make of that..). This is like that, but like much much better. God bless Yu sama. God is Yu sama.

I'm keeping my expectations of any Shenmue 3/Zero news to a minimum though. In fact, I think they may even refuse to take any questions on Shenmue 3/Zero. Which is probably reasonable if Yu doesn't have anything new to add. There's practically no chance of a announcement though chaps. Don't let that de-hype you though, this should still be great.

Not sure what time it will be in Japan, but i will cross my fingers, my hair, everything that i can get crossed during this GDC.

Options (from best to worst) :

1) Shenmue Trilogy (I and II HD remakes and Shenmue III)
2) Shenmue III but no HD remakes (sounds like a no to me)
3) Marketing Shenmue I and II HD to see how its going on nowadays
(now you got 2 options) :
1)1) It sells well enough to convince them to get Shenmue III done
1)2) Well, i guess you will understand without having me saying whats going to happen...
4) Shenmue III as a movie like Shenmue I or a novel
5) No Shenmue III at all, and me waiting at Narita Airport for Yu to come back, kidnap him and torture him until he reveals the ending so i can spread it out to the internet !

I was really pleased when I read this forum post, For the fact that now we are able to watch it live and not have to wait for some gaming news website to report what is going on there. Definitely going to be interesting, is there a Dojo Chat system where we can all talk that day?

I can't figure out what time I need to watch it in my area I'm eastern time I live in New Jersey.
