I would include all continental timezones in the original post. So everyone knows their exact time and doesn't miss out.

On a side note, I think we are going to have a great insight into our beloved game, but no real answer on the future of the franchise or releases. Of course I say that in the hooe of being wrong but I just don't feel it.

Its almost time!!! Words can not express my excitement for this event at the very least now I know the world will not let such a wonderful game just die without the recognition it deserves. Now lets have dragon and phoenix finally meet and bring us Shenmue 3!!! THE SAGA CONTINUES.......

Still anticipating this post mortem however i kinda lost the excitement and hope i felt when initially hearing about this event and now i don't think we will hear any shenmue related announcement or release schedule.

One thing is for sure,if we don't hear anything next week then i think we have to forever forget seeing a conclusion to the shenmue saga,oh well life moves on i suppose.

Then again maybe Yu will announce what we have all been waiting 13 years for....ok im secretly very excited for next week :D \:D/ :rotflmao:

It might not happen next week, but now is not the time to give up hope. Far to much positive momentum at the moment. This postmortem (and I don't like that term, because it aint dead!) at the very least will bring more spotlight back to Shenmue and our cause.

And if I'm not mistaken, PDT= UTC-7, which also means 2pm(PDT) = 21:00(UTC) the same day. :D

What's it going to be in Japan? If my calculations are correct, I should be able to catch it before work. So excited.

Sorry but raising shenmue awareness is not going to get you the $30 million or so needed to do a worthwhile shenmue sequal/remake.

Shenmue lost Sega tens of millions of $$$,there is no chance in hell that after all the momentum as you say pushing forward at the moment doesn't lead to any shenmue announcement soon, then im sorry but there will never be a better time to resurrect our beloved series.

Also the actual number of people still interested and rallying the support in hindsight is actually diminutive to get a $30 million project going,i suppose the way to go is for YU to release a shenmue HD remaster on every platform possible and hope that it earns enough to kickstart shenmue 3.

Or as the rumours are saying that Sony might of obtained exclusive rights to Shenmue,if somehow Yu managed to persuade some guys at Sony entertainment to give the green light to a shenmue reboot. Idk if the friendship between Mark and Yu could be the key to that but Mark's most recent project KNACK was a TOTAL FLOP,so i doubt how much of a say he has in deciding which project SCE develop.

However people thinking that because Mark is doing a discussion on shenmue that somehow it means shenmue is coming to the playstation i think don't realise that Mark has done interviews with Yu before and talked on shenmue before (for example at the games developer conference) So it's all up in the air as to what has happened, but as i say if after all of the PR and talks going on about shenmue at the moment lead to nothing, then at least for myself closing the door of ever hoping that shenmue will be concluded.

I think now is the best time, I mean, there is absolutely no point in giving a Shenmue postmortem 13 odd years after the game's release, because in all honesty, who's going to give a shit (apart from the fans of course) ?

Exactly, the answer says it all, the fans are the only one's who will be interested in this scenario, so to give us this postmortem or whatever is pointless unless something new is in the works, if Shenmue is to have been discontinued then let it be ffs, just don't give a 1 hour speech with a PS4 game producer called Mark and getting people's hopes up for fuck all basically.

so I'll tell you this, if the outcome of this build up of excitement leads to nothing, then they can all go and fuck themselves really and truthfully, if on the other hand we do get what we're after, then horray, well done, get on with it and do a smashing job.

Awesome. What questions is Segata going to ask? Assuming there is a QNA session.
