Does Sega have a big presentation like MS, sony and Nintendo do? If they were making shenmue exclusively for a certain console I would think it would be one of the big three to make the reveal because of how big it would be. I'm just trying to keep a little hope while not expecting much at all.

The Dream is over, pack it up folks.

Like with Sony PlayStation's list:
"Obviously, we can’t dish on EVERY game that we’ll be showing at E3, but [...]"

Wish/hope/dream [but don't be sure] for an announcement and most importantly don't stop to support Shenmue (at least once per month, TeamYu.net/SaveShenmue).

If Sega should really work on another Shenmue and they won't come out with it at E3, let's not forget that there is still the Tokyo Game Show, and maybe they reveal it first in Japan. Don't get me wrong, I don't say that there is a current Shenmue in the making, but if, this could quite possibly be the way for them to go.

Doesn't come off as a surprise that there is no Shenmue on any of the E3 lists.
The thing is, if they do plan to unveil something at E3 they want it to be a huge surprise for everyone.
So if they have something the obviously wont put it on the list beforehand. The same thing can be said about Sony.

Always possible, but I'm not holding my breath. (I'd guess you aren't either :D )

Naw.

TGS is now a shadow of its former self and rarely has any big reveals or anything in the past few years. The most popular destination at TGS now is mobile. The Japanese gaming industry is in the toilet. More than that, Shenmue is more popular in the west than Japan.

I've always suspected this is a main reason they haven't made it. Like their standpoint is "If it isn't big in japan why make it?"

Both Sony and Microsoft have entered the Chinese market. China has quite strict rules on what games to allow people will play. Shenmue is the best sample for a market like that. Especially, when Shenmue fully tackles with Chinese culture, legends/mythology, geography, settings et cetera.

I dunno, with language as foul as "kiss off, punk!" it'd probably be banned within the day.

Does anyone else look at the current page number in a thread to predict real Shenmue news? I always say "oh they're still on page 12, guess nothings happened yet." But if I see "woah it jumped to 17!" I'll know there was some extra news.

Oh, and I had to set the controller down for a few weeks when that guy told me he ain't got time for no punk kids. I know I'm playing a video game but I do have feelings.

I can imagine. Sony is announcing Shenmue 3, while Yu Suzuki's coming at the scene with a forklift, celebrating and doing the rounds around the E3 stage. Then he holds both the Mirrors, raise them up (hands up) while smiling, all the building is flashing so fast with all those lights everywhere...

I totally expected your story to continue a slightly different way. More specifically, that joining the two mirrors caused flashing of lights followed by a huge explosion wiping out a vast area surrounding E3. And that this would be his revenge for being pestered all those years regarding the Shenmue series. In the meanwhile Yu himself and those important to him got shielded by divine forces.
