Why change the asking price after the campaign has already begun with half the world believing that $2 million was enough and that a real Shenmue 3 experience is therefore already sufficiently funded? I think if we're going to change the price for the minimum real Shenmue experience the project actually needs we should at least have an extension of the funding period with PayPal donations over at Shenmue.com after this Kickstarter so as to allow for us, the few who pay attention to interviews and such, more time to up our pledges and make up for the rest of the world who have now walked away misinformed.

I just donated my $500. Tried to read the whole thread since the announcement, but wow! Lots of discussion.

I just hope Yu offers more dinners. Maybe some 5K dinners without the script or so. I mean he prolly has dinner ever evening anyways, so i see much potential for more rewards here.

I have the 10k here waiting. But only if there are more dinner spaces added. I've emailed YS.net about it.

It's great it's finally happened, I never thought I'd react the way I did...was a pretty special announcement for us all.

But will we truly be happy?

I mean at the time we'd never seen anything like Shenmue, that was the benchmark. I don't think there's anything that's surpassed it in my eyes to date in terms of depth and scale, I do however think it's going to get compared and ripped to shreds by our community.

Will we truly ever be happy with Shenmue 3? I think not.

It's all down to dollars and cents. If you want a game, like 1-2, the total budget for S3 would have to exceed 25 million USD.

I don't know what Sony has in mind; who does? Perhaps they're willing to match YS with what they can raise on KS.

Hello there, good to be back on the Dojo again!

I am not sure if I have put this in the best forum thread but I created a small news episode on Youtube about the campaign. I hope that some of you will enjoy it as it is aimed at the backers first and foremost. It includes a lot of stats and some talk about Shenmuedojo's campaign initatives.
