Sega are almost certainly going to capitalize on the back of this and release them. 100% of the profits of which will probably stay in Sega's pockets and not go towards the development of Shen 3. Kind of weird when you think about it.

I'm entirely sure sega won't do a remake. they don't care for shenmue and won't do so now either. let's hope shenmue 3 is such a success and really kicks sega in the balls

If it turns out that the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Campaign becomes a money printing machine then SEGA will have a hard time to disregards the many requests about HD remakes... I mean not like they are charity or so, they WILL look at the outcome... In Dollars i mean...

Sega doesn't care about Shenmue but they care about making some easy bucks. And now, they don't even have to worry about being pressured into Shenmue 3, as other people are doing all the hard work on that. So, I think it will come, but it'll probably barely even be upgraded. And unless some of the profits go towards Yu, I shan't be buying it.

sega has had these opportunitie's in the past as well and always failed. also I believe they lost all shenmue code from that time I believe I read somewhere so it would be enormously expensive and time consuming to do it as well.

I don't buy that. The only reason they didn't release it previously is because they didn't want to be responsible for making a Shenmue 3. And now they aren't anymore, so it's just cash in the bank for them.

I want the physical copy, but I want to play it on PS4... guess i'll just take the physical PC copy just to collect, and buy a PS4 digital when it releases as well.
