It's not done through control panel, I edited it manually.

You can't, this is edited admin-side. I don't think there's a way to allow users to change it so I opted with left side since the majority wanted it that way.

You do nothing. There is no option. It was left or right, we decided more people wanted the traditional left side and agree. So it's now on the left, permanently.
