Don't like it.
It doesn't really put more emphasis on Shenmue, it just makes everything else take longer to get to and navigate. Not like Shenmue needs more emphasis anyway (kind of obvious it was already the focus as it was). And I really don't see how its previous format would have been "overwhelming" for new users. Everything was clearly spelled out on the very first page, without having to navigate into sub-folders and whatnot.
Agreed, the new setup just takes that many more clicks to get the non-shenmue stuff (mainly the general gaming forums, which is where i post at the most). its a bit of an aggravation, and honestly somewhat feels like the forums are trying to hide certain areas to favor the shenmue related stuff. This is a Shenmue forum, but over the years it seems like the shenmue theme took a bit of a step back for a more general gaming/technology forum. I personally, for the most part feel like its cool that we are getting new news and info and hopes raised about S3 (which will ultimately mean new users here at SD), but I am not gonna go crazy with discussion about shenmue again until we get an official announcement or a release date, other than that we have fleshed out shenmue discussion as far at it can possibly go here at SD.
What I am saying is, I understand the reasons for these changes, but think it may have been pre-mature (and honestly would have made little to no difference if kept the way it was, that everyone was used to). Are we getting alot of new users registering at SD? Was it REALLY necessary? I mean, the shenmue stuff was at the VERY top anyway, it was the first thing you saw, I dont really see whats so confusing about it.
