Shenmue 3 for PS2 and Online Ideas

I wouldn't be surprised to see Shenmue at some point on the pc though ,i mean years later we've seen the release of all kinds of sega stuff, like virtua fighter, Sonic R etc as budget releases..so in another couple of years we could see it there..possibly. But not the 3rd installment of course

I wouldn't want any online play in a Shenmue game - it just doesn't suit it. Maybe some online elements, such as checking scoreboards against other people in mini-games, or downloading some sub-quests, but that's it.

And as far as the PS2 goes, I don't believe the PS2 could handle it. It would also affect sales - there may be a lot more people wanting it, or possibly not since they haven't got a previous version of Shenmue. Plus I'd have to buy a PS2.

No no no no no no. Aside the fact the PS2 is weak, it would also be too wierd.. Why would Suzuki want to release something that is so big to him, on a cheap console that SOMEHOW hurt his first 2 games? And why would any true fan want to play it on a PS2? Ugh, after the dreamy dream cast.. Move on to no color jag station? It would be such a terrible feeling. I probably wouldn't get it at all.

I honestly can't see Shenmue III being on anything but Xbox. If it was on PS2 or GCN (exclusively), that would mean North Americans would have to own THREE different consoles in order to complete the story (assuming Shenmue III is the last game in the series). Sega wouldn't do that.

If it comes out on X-Box then thats alright,I'll buy an X-Box for it but I wont spend money on a machine which is made by a company that nearly killed SEGA and is doing the same to Nintendo.

If what Shenmue 3 needs to be developed is to be released on the PS2, then let it happen.

As long as we see a Shenmue 3, the platform is a secondary aspect to me. Gameplay-wise I'm sure the console could handle the big world of Shenmue, and maybe the graphics would have to be rewritten and would probably have to look quite different (trading texture variety and quality for higher polygon counts and better lighting effects), but I'm sure it could look decent enough not to hamper the enjoyment of the game.

I am bigger on Nintendo and gamecube games than X-box or sega games.

It was the dreamcast and Shenmue that got me intrested in sega.

I prefer my Gamecube over my X-box....hell I don't even like the Xbox...I just got it for Shenmue IIx.

iv always been a sega man myself and nintendo are really cool too (not as cool as sega ofcourse) but sony suck the most and xbox i suppose i can give them a chance to proove themselves with this 1st console... having the rights to shenmue is a good start ;)

the PS2 is weaker than the Dreamcast. As for the online, Shenmue isn't a game liek that, its 1 player, adventure game, not an online one nor a 2 player one
