Sega's BIG announcement?

(Chapter 7 and beyond)

Postby alimn » Sat Mar 03, 2007 4:20 pm

BTW Managing Director Hideki Okamura is from Sonic Team
but this doesn't mean that this game should be a game from
Sonic Team because he says that Sega is working on a new game
not Sonic team, lol!
(well, maybe...just said this because I don't want to see that
it is going to be a new Nights without Yuji Naka)

Also I am not saying that Sonic Team is not a good developer anymore
(Sonic Wii was a good game) but Nights is Yuji Naka's
game(still) and his new studio should be the main developer of next
Nights...unfortunately his new studio is not ready yet...
(there is just a simple name & site about it lol! Prope!)

Not that I don't hope that the big announcement will be Shenmue III, but what if the big announcement will be about something that has nothing to do with any of Sega's franchises? (Shenmue included)

sorry if this has already been mentioned, but alot of sites are saying that sega is focusing on ds stuff. nights on ds sounds right but i cannot see shenmue being on the ds, i can see it on the wii however. i dont know, it honestly can be anything, and what makes me more angry is that sega isnt saying when they will release more info. 9 more months until the end of 07 is a long time to wait.

No, please don't let this be a DS-game! Nights was awesome but I don't want to see Mr Eugene Aka, who has been responsible for great games like Sonic Heroes, Phantasy Star Universe or Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 the recent years ruin that franchise.

Sega Japan has offered insight into its current development plans, with a senior executive making comments that will both delight and terrify the firm's loyal fanbase. Speaking to Nikkei Business, Sega Director Hideki Okamura outlined that before the year is out, a 'significant title' would be released that would come as 'a surprise' to games consumers.

words such as "terrify" and "delight" should not be analysed as according to this, they were not said by the Sega executive. The only words they actually quoted were "significant title" and "a surprise".

Can anyone find the quote in it's entirity?

Sorry to say this
but after doing some research
I'm going to say that this is not Shenmue III for sure.

Why?
here is a simple reason because this translation
can't be true for 100% & it seems that they are just talking
about a surprise, not a big surprise...

Also the man that is talking about this surprise is a Sonic Team staff.(According to Adam Doree)

therefore it seems that this title will be a new Nights for
one of Nintendo's system (without Yuji Naka).

I'm not going to tell you that don't say this is Shenmue III.
Keeping Shenmue III's name alive is always nice, but
please don't get your hopes UP!because this can really hurt to
our feelings...especially this time.

I've never played Nights, however I don't think it needs a sequel, does it?

Well, NiGHTS was a near perfect game. There was no point in it where it wasn't fun. It was, however, quite short.

I think it would be nice to have a NiGHTS sequel, and I desperately want one. I also know, however, that nobody is capable of living up to the original.
