My guess is Psy-Phi as articles said it would be a fighting game.

The news has even hit IGNs main news page. Seems Kenjis interview has gotten people taking! I personally think he was applaudingly smart in his selection of questions, instead of the usual " gis Shammoo thee"

Now if other sites wouldn't neglect the news that Shenmue Gai will return to smartphones I'd be happy..

I'd like to see it in EU.

It's not really the style of games I usually play but I'd buy it. No doubt.

Same here on both accounts.

Great news to hear. I've always had a few theories about the games myself, and these statments further solidify them in my head. I've been under the impression that Ryo will not kill Lan Di, and Lan Di may in fact end up joining his "party" of good guys, maybe as the anti hero. I mean think about it, besides killing Iwao and being the leader of a mafia-type gang, there has been nothing so far to suggest Lan Di is a bad guy. Wanting to take revenge on the guy that you feel has murdered your father is a pretty understandable motive to me, and he even went so far as to spare Ryo, probably knowing fully well the life-long enemy he would create. Ryo will confront Lan Di, perhaps defeat him, and realize that he's headed down the same path. I've also thought that -

- Either Ryo or Lan Di are related to Shen hua. Makes sense since her parents either left the village or died, which would suggest either Lan Di or Ryo's father.
- We still have so many possible antagonists to deal with, The Chi Yo Men are a large organization. Lan Di is only the leader of one branch, and that could be the smallest branch for all we know.
- Magical powers will be introduced in some form
- The Chi Yo Men leader will be the main antagonist of the series.

Wow, that interview really inspired me.

I really hope Shenmue 3 gets made. Just not by any team NOT directed by Yu himself.

I agree. I've been mentioning in some posts years ago that I did not really believe that there would be a final fight with Lan Di to conclude it all in a third game. This is if we're assuming that the original plotline will be followed without cutting out parts.
My point was that it looked more as if he would confront Lan Di in the third game. Be it in a fight or not. But not to end it all since Lan Di is "just" part of a bigger organization and plot. It felt as if the story could go deeper in a hypothetical Shenmue 4 and 5 even (as originally planned) with the rest of the Chi You Men organization getting involved. There were some hints in promotional material to support that too. Niao Sun for example and some material on a Project Berkely video. Finding Lan Di and winning in a fight always seemed a bit too simple in a way when compared to the general feel of the series.

Whats Ocal? An old user? If thats the question, nope.

As much as some of you may hate this idea (Ryudo), I think Shenmue was going in a Shonen-type direction in its story. I mean, its based off virtua fighter after-all. I can imagine that there would have been some "ki"-like attacks, and things of that nature. Theres a lot of hinting at that in the Shenmue Online footage. I would have been all for it to be honest, as long as the exploration was still there.
