As mentioned, HD remakes will come out if there's some sort of green light for Shenmue III. It'd be a bonehead move to re-release the first two and invite a ton of pressure from the a new wave of fans on top of the ones that have been doing it for the past 10 years. I'm not ready to jump down Harbone's throat just yet since Sega have since trademarked Skies of Arcadia in recent weeks.

yeah for the fans but for the general gaming world it will just be another 6.5/7 out of 10 game due to its age/graphics

if us dojo members are expecting shenmue 3 to come out on the back of S2/1HD i think were in trouble.

I do not agree at all. Shenmue has achieved a certain cult status over the years. That should not be underestimated.

of course i want it to be a success but were have to wait and see

(the amount of time we have all been waiting, they could have remade shenmue 1/2 probably twice over)

Sega will also add in missing boat chapter for making us wait for so long for S3. Just you wait until Shenmue HD is released

This indeed made me laugh.

For me as a fan the HD collection woudn't even have to be different from the original. Maybe a new filter and faster loadings and that's it. But as I said I'm already a fan so the game could even be based on the second world war with lazer swords.

What SEGA should do is to produce the dlc as cheap as possible to look if it really has a high cult status.
