Damn devils, i'll obviously up my pledge to 80$ but then...i'll be just 20$ away from my name in the credit, which means i'll have to pledge 100$ in the end.
And then obviously buy an extra copy on release.

I tweeted Cedric asking if it's possible for higher tiers to pay for example $300 to get the Patron reward as well, will see if he replies.

Love the phone idea. It will be really awesome to see some scenes from the first two games re-imagined as a flashback, if that's what they have planned. .
Also, I don't see why they would introduce the idea of Gui Zhang accompanying Ryo if it never were to happen. The final scene of Shenmue could have transpired exactly as it did without suggesting such. i wouldn't rule it out based on this reward.

Well they introduced the idea of Gui Zhang coming back at some point, unlike some other characters that got left behind for good.
Keep in mind he has to recover first, then travel by sea, trace Ryo and finally reach the villages. Thats not something that was gonna happen any soon imo.

I absolutely LOVE those. Honestly those are some of the most imaginative yet. Your name appearing in the game is a great incentive for $800
Edit:HOLY SHIT!
I just checked and the $10,000 dinner tiers have been upgraded to the #1500 tier and under!! That means I will be pictured in the docking station and the inn register!!!

this concerns me too. i'm not too keen on missing out on the in-game items like technique scrolls, but i'll need a whole new $800 donation to get this?
(having ones name in kanji appear in the game is a great idea though)

Yeah agreed, I love that everyone gets the phone reward, and not being greedy, because we have name and face in the game at $1500 reward, but missing out on a move scroll seems a bit disheartening after pledging so much money

Maybe it's a "free scroll" ? Like you can buy it later in the game ? (like the scrolls that master mo gives you ?)

Not particularly, this is AJ after all, they won't have been told the whole plot line for Shenmue 3 imo, they're probably just naming memorable characters from the first 2 games? Not sure

Yea good point... But wouldn't each update have to be approved by Yu/Ys Net first?
