What will happen if we get a HUGE 5 minute+ in-depth story and gameplay oriented trailer for Shenmue 3??

AND at the end of the trailer we get a surprise announcement of Shenmue 1 & 2 HD remake that will go on sale this Christmas???

What will happen if all we get is the exact same environmental shots that were shown in Monaco along with an announcement that Shenmue 3 will be delayed until Q3 2018?

I would not expect a long trailer, something more like a one minute trailer or less and a few pics alongside new info. Of course nothing story related. Maybe showing some parts of Chobu, Bailu and NPCs? I would love to see the improved version of Ryo and Shenhua...

I think we're getting something similar to what Japan KS dinner backers saw. I don't think Peter or LanDC mentioned how long it was, but I expect two and a half minutes would be the safe bet on length. It depends how much more they're willing to show than they were six months ago, when the dropped E3 trailer was cut.

Even if it's just the same with less placeholder elements + new Ryo and Shenhua models it'll be so much more than we've seen of the game since, well, ever. Maybe they'll sneak in more cutscene material, but I wouldn't expect them to based on the fairly recent job posting for cutscene artists.

It is a mystery.

But I don't think it'll be "rapid cut Hollywoody bullshit". Those sorts of trailers demand large set-piece moments of a game to be near complete/highly polished for the "wow" factor, but I don't think they are right now.

That's unlikely. If there's voice work already recorded, it would probably be Japanese for convenience and cost reasons.

Slightly under two and a half minutes seems the average after a quick scan on YouTube of the trailers for Shenmue II.

The original Shenmue trailers are longer, but they're more like massive overviews of the game and "HEY LOOK AT THIS COOL GROUNDBREAKING SHIT". The Dreamcast Magazine trailer was like 6 minutes though.
