Yeah, but how did he survive getting knocked into the ocean? I feel like we're done with Chai as a character. He served his purpose.

Probably need to wait for the full translation- it might be as a flashback, separate Hong Kong scene etc. Doesn't mean he's going to be turning up in bailu village

If anything, it just goes to show that Suzuki may be having more returning characters than a lot of people think there will be (aside from the obvious ones like Ren).

Honestly, Chai felt really out of place in Shenmue I without any additional context. While it would have been nice to be surprised, I'm glad he is returning because I always hoped there was a little more to be said about his history and relationship to Lan Di and the Chiyoumen.
