Shenmue 3 for 2020 that's all.

I don't think so, no.

71 days.

That's the number of days between E3 and Gamescom.

I don't see how that means Shenmue III will be released in 2020.

Shenmue III make the show at E3 2015 for the world, obviously he will make the show for the world again, one day at E3. And if nothing will be show at E3 2018 you can be sure will be at E3 2019, it's mean... 2020.

Make sense

You do realize that 2019 will be the 20th Anniversary of the original release of Shenmue on Dreamcast?

Shenmue 3 can appear at E3 2019 and still be released the same year.

It's probably ready to be shown, but they don't have a prayer looking at the leaks of megatons Sony has possibly at their show(DMC5, Re2make, FFVII, Ghosts, Dearh Stranding).

It's be drowned by all that

I don't understand the "missing E3 = 2020 release" train of thought given the obvious fact a promotion cycle doesn't have to start at E3, and there's E3 2019 possibly coming before the game releases. I don't see the logic.

And frankly, it's either going to get delayed, or it's not. Might as well flip a coin and say "I TOLD YOU, I TOLD YOU, I TOLD YOU" if it lands on your side of choice.

The logic want after the first Gameplay Trailer all games realase after one year minimum. Shenmue 3 have nothing, when the first (and true) beautiful and official trailer (not technical video) will be show at E3 2019 you can be sure the game will be realase after one year minimum. If you check all statistics of all videos games you will consider and discover the true about Shenmue 3 realase.

And what if the first GAMEPLAY TRAILER comes out in 2018?

I don't get this obsession with E3. There are other events in the gaming industry.

This has to be some of the fucking dumbest logic I have ever seen. You have to be trolling.

- It is E3 the most important show in the business? Yes
- It is mandatory to be at E3 to the game to be released at 2019? No

Marketing is a complex thing, and now that Deep Silver-THQ Nordiq is on it I am pretty confident that they will do wich is best for the title.

Just going to echo the posts above.

Gastarot, your "statistics" are based on self-made binary rules about promotional cycles that don't exist, and ignoring the half a dozen events Shenmue III could show at this year alone; let alone the strong hint that we'll see more at Gamescom anyway.

Well, about the hints made by Cedric about Gamescom...I don't pay much attention to Cedric anymore, he seems a good guy but we all know how his predictions went lately.

In fairness to Cedric, he's not predicting anything. Even if he's somewhere on the back seats of production, he has an inside look that we don't. So that said, the hint about Gamescom is almost definitely based on information right from the development team, and is accurate for the moment.

As we all know: plans can change.

This is my speculation though; I think Gamescom has been on the cards for months and is unlikely to get wiped off the list of planned attendances at short notice.

I personally think we expect too much from the people in the know. They're not going to blow an announcement on Twitter or via PM. Just wait and see. They're supposed to keep their cards close to their chests. Don't get your hopes up, but don't fret over some babble on Twitter.
