Shibuya Production 30 million
Various funds from Monaco and Japan 30 million
Quantic Dream was contacted but refused

I've always liked their channel but they're not journalists, I think there are some errors here (pretty like Jeux Actu.com who predicted brillantly Shenmue 3 before the E3 but were wrong about Quantic Dream's involvement).

Didn't they say that Shenmue III would be revealed at E3 and be developed by Quantic Dream? I think that was a bullshit rumour and when Shenmue III did in fact get revealed, they're now coming out with this to save face/get clicks/ad revenue.

I don't think so, Jeuxactu.com was really confident about their "source" although they're wrong about Quantic part, maybe because a bad crosscheck. Now that's the second time that Quantic Dream is said involved in Shenmue 3 project.

Nah. It common to understand that these people will look anything in a bad light.

At the time I responded there wasn't the other pic. But it's hilarious how it can work both ways.

IMO, from what I've seen, the KS article is actually a good thing. For one thing, it notifies people of the situation, it also makes Kotaku look like assholes and people may pledge just because of that alone. Engaging it makes the story known, and not thrown into the backburner.

This is a big topic so not sure if this was caught yet...

but for what it's worth, it looks like this is a freelance writer filling in for the guys at Kotaku over the holiday.

Here's the link to that tweet as well: https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/statu ... 8907131904

If you look at the article Jason, who is a full-time writer at Kotaku, tells the author that he comes off as harsh.

Kotaku is responsible for the content that gets put on their site, but this seems to fall more on the shoulders of Phil Owen than the website as a whole.

Have to admit, I'm very pleased that my response to his comment about "begging" is continuing to get so many likes.

Clearly Kotaku readers did not enjoy Phil's concern trolling.

Nope. I'd delete that tweet if I were you. Trolling a troll is giving them what they want.

Better to be the bigger person and let these people embarrass themselves.

I think, if I'm not mistaken, the article is off the frontpage now.

I agree, you should delete it.

Also Erevador, your post on Kotaku was a very well written response. Good job.

Ctrl + F5. I can only find on the 'personal blog' side of things now.

And I agree on deleting. He's already retweeted it, like "waaah, look at all the crazy shenmue fans trololol" ](*,)

I think we should be clear that our community does not promote or approve of any sort of bullying tactics, even against those who write nonsense. This is about building something constructive and coming together to make a beautiful work of art. Insulting people is not in the spirit of that, no matter what.

Allowing these people to feel that they are in fact the victim in the situation is giving them what they want, and allows them to feel they are on some righteous crusade, rather than just participating in petty concern trolling.

Guys dont go down the road of linking accounts and starting online wars with them. If you choose to do so, you can do what you want, but dont bring it on here. This topic is borderline enough as it is.
