Exactly. There's absolutely no reasonable excuse why this isn't available yet. Chalk up another blunder for a poorly run campaign.

We waited 14 yrs, a few days is nothing compared to that, but i agree, yeah it could have been managed more smoothly.

It doesn't have to do with "fees" any middleware will take a cut from the money, it was about riding the wave of the KS record, so it could be on the news and get people that were hyped but haven't backed could get on the train.

It's just stupid, really bad management. What's the point of cutting momentum ? NONE.

You've hit the nail on the head. Yes we can talk about how great we as fans are and what we can do but what these 'fans' don't understand to increase amounts raised, we need wider exposure. The kind of exposure that happened yesterday/today from gaming and non-gaming media. These are exactly the kind of outlets we need talking about Shenmue, discussing post-funding options and giving people curious enough the ability to back and pledge.

The attention of the average internet user is fickle at best. By the time Suzuki and co finally manage to pull their fingers from their butt, those people have moved on.

The community has already pledged so much, many users I know I financially tapped out. For them to carry the weight again from a poorly run campaign and do the heavily lifting is not reasonable.

Pretty much that, a lot of people that didn't play the games got hyped just by everyone else around it, even if they were skeptic about the quality of the game they would see the ammount pledged/record and think "this will be a fine game" or just want to be part of "it".

If they make the wait a little bit longer it'll just be a time for peoplr that couldn't pledged on KS and for the newcomers will be a glorified preorder. Specially if they go on a news/updates blackout.

I would be happy, as a fan, to be able to finish the story, it is 14 bloody years later man...
If it will not be the AAA title that will blow the last of us out of the water, well so be it!

really they should have had the paypal page up and ready for the end of the stream along with all the available paypal pledging options and the stretch goals lists ready for updates...

.. by the time its up the end of the kick starter is reported everywhere and the momentum is gone.

But i wouldn't have expected to find it here...

Seriously speak for yourself, me along with many poster (who are coincidentally posted right above you) have echoed exactly the same sentiments.

If you don't want to hear any legitimate qualms with the campaign, fine close your eyes and plead ignorance but others who love the games should be able to share really problems and concerns and the fact is you only get a very small window to capture wide attention with any sort of internet campaign.

The fact Suzuki and co haven't got the Paypal system up and running despite years/months of planning is simply poor. There's no two ways about it. If you disagree actually provide some content instead of blinding slinging nonsense.

It's not about hating, it's about something simple that should been prepared beforehand (even in between the KS).

We just want this to be the best, It has done great, but not because management.

Let's say they don't work on saturdays, you are being paid, is it that hard to enter on your cellphone and say "thanks" and put a paypal account ? DO they have to hack CIA or something ? We asked that a lot of times, and they awknoledge it before so it was THAT difficult to just do things smoothly ?

It's not hating on shenmue or the KS, it's us fans wanting to do well.

And BTW we are asking simple stuff, we are not asking them to run around the world screaming about Shenmue, it's really simple stuff that SHOULD BE THEIR JOB.

So, what do people propose we do about this? It's not like we can force them to do it. As has been the case with the whole campaign, 1) we don't really know what the realities behind the scenes are, and 2) what will be will be. We have no control over the situation. Therefore the most optimal thing to do, other than beseeching them to do things (which we're all doing,) is to just make the best of a lest than ideal situation.

What else can we do? That said, nothing wrong with venting if it helps.
