Lan Di believed Iwao kept only one of the mirrors, be it dragon or phoenix he was not specific

Yeah I suppose, its just I would have thought that Tentei, as he was the one who gave Lan Di the mission to retreve the mirrors he would have known about Iwao having both, thats all I was wondering, im probably looking for something that isn't there but I wondered with the legend and stuff about the mirrors is it perhaps important for the Chiyou Men that Ryo has one mirror, could he unwittingly be a key part of what they have planned for the mirrors?

Ryo is not important to the Chiyoumen, Lan Di later retrieves the phoenix mirror from Ryo as seen in the bad endings.

True, true I can't argue there but I was under the impression that the bad endings don't actually contribute to the overall story of Shenmue and that they are just there as a kind of time limit to complete the game, if that is the case then there is a possiblity that my theory about Ryo being important to the Chiyou Men could possibly be true, just an idea though.

Lan Di would of eventually learned the where abouts of the phoenix mirror. We can't assume he just wanted one mirror without no desire/goal to gain the other. Ryo will be important with Shenhua in the equation, but on his own? Nope.

Actually, in the original Japanese version, Master Chen doesn't identify Lan Di
as the head of the Chiyou men, but as one of the executives.

Yet another excuse for hating the English dub.

what i hope, is they dont end making a "dragon ball" ending

with ryo, shenhua and lan di making balls of energy and that kind of stuff (like we have seen in the premier video i think, that shenhua blows up two times)

i was also some way kind of pissed of by the sII final, it just made all the real world created before, just turn in a fantasy game

it was ok with the secret basement, it was ok with the "unrealistic map" of the mirror

but they had to make the mirror threw that kind of energy beam ??, and make the sword float like that ?

they couldnt come with something more "real" like i dont know, set in fire something, and with a lens there, make the light go to the mirror, or something like that ?

I think it's pretty obvious.

Ren is the key to Lan Di master plan. Lan Di knows that Ren is greedy and wants lots of good money. He's aware of that , and he knows that he can take advantage of him. Thats why Lan Di wants the 2 mirrors , to give lots of money to Ren so he can be his henchman.

So now i see you wondering on your chair, thinking ;"Why Ren?" Well, First Ren is a good fighter and he have a KNIFE (thats a point that we can't ignore !!) and in second place, Who in the whole "Shenmue cast" knows Ryo better than Ren? you can try to find someone else all night if you want..ehhhh won't happen. Ren know how to defeat Ryo, he knows his weaknesses and Ryo is not familiar fighting people with dangerous weapon!

So for the final battle, it will be in a volcano crater somewhere in Russia. Ren will be in the middle of the crater (With new clothes) waiting for Ryo , while Lan Di escapes in his private jet.

oh and we don't get to fight Lan Di until Shenmue V or VI

if shenmue III is ever made, is going to have all the old chapters, (cause the xbox game didnt sell well, and the 1 isnt well known)

and the idea of ren ?? what was that ??, he wants the 2 mirrors to hire ren ??? if lan di wanted to kill ryo, he had the chance to kill him in the first shenmue, he wants the 2 mirrors, thats a fact

maybe ren will betray ryo in the game, but lan di have lot of money to give ren

ugh..i tought i made myself clear but i'll explain it.

Lan Di don't want to get his hand dirty(he don't want to get caught) , he wants SOMEONE ELSE to kill Ryo. His loser henchman (fat guy and weirdo) were GOOD FIGHTER BUT! they didn't know Ryo's only weakness! Ren knows it! When Lan Di saw his 2 primary henchmen die..he reacted!

Lan Di doesn't have LOADS of money , he's preparing something to control asian countries, he's thirsty for power! He spends all his money on something(that we don't know yet..maybe a biological bomb? We'll see!).

So Lan Di wants to be sure that his plan works perfectly! Money will not be a problem because he has now the 2 mirrors. Theres alot of money in this treasure , more than you can imagine. So now Lan Di is sitting on a couch thinking : "What is the only obstacle in my way now?".....RYO!

Lan Di is smart and won't go searching for Ryo and kick his ass. that would be stupid. Ryo could just trap him calling the police or chinese special forces. So now that where Ren comes in play! Ryo trusts Ren , but when money is involve Ren goes for it!

Ren will try to assasinate Ryo and will fail...then after the volcano crater thing as stated above...
Screw Shenmue III. I wanna play Shenmue IV or V!

i think that you're in drugs or something

lan di killed iwao, do you think kill another guy means something to him ??
ren knows ryo weakspot ??
did you think in the idea that the treasure doesnt involve money or nothing like that ?? zu said, REVIVE the treasure...
do you think lan di doesnt have money ?? he have a private helicopter, but, yes, he may be poor ¬¬

i dont think there`ll be much policemen in guilin... ¬¬

also, the only thing stoping lan di from gain total control of the japan-china route is chen

ryo wont kill lan di, he knows revenge isnt the way, he learned that in SII, it doesnt work that way

and yes, ine-san got an affair with nozomi grandmother xD

I think this whole third page is on drugs. Talk about convoluted...
"There is no man so good that if he placed all his actions and thoughts under the scrutiny of the laws, he would not deserve hanging ten times in his life." - Michel de Montaigne, Book III of Essais

"The only freedom which deserves the name, is that of pursuing our own good in our own way, so long as we do not attempt to deprive others of theirs, or impede their efforts to obtain it. Each is the proper guardian of his own health, whether bodily, or mental and spiritual. Mankind are greater gainers by suffering each other to live as seems good to themselves, than by compelling each to live as seems good to the rest." - John Stuart Mill, On Liberty

English subtitles could be inaccurate, too. Unfortunately, that's inevitable
to some extent when you play foreign games.
