Hasn't anybody noticed that everybody's parents (except a few) are getting killed. You know; Ryo's dad, Xiuying and Ziming's parents, Shenhua's real parents, probably Shenhua's step-dad, etc. Could all these killings be the cause of someone more powerful than Lan Di that we havn't heard of yet?

interesting thought... I wonder who would kill them. I bet at one point, all of those mommies and daddies had their hands on both mirrors, and someone killed them. Maybe Chiyou killed them, but that sounds dumb :D

I have also noticed this strange pattern of parents being killed. I'm not sure if all of those people had posetion of the mirror at some point, but it could be some sort of curse that the holder of the mirror will be killed.

I just played through the Konami-created Shadow of Destiny, and all the major characters in that are either orphans to begin with, become orphans through the story or at least never knew who their parents were. I wonder if it's just a Japanese literary device that they don't even notice they're doing. Nineteenth Century English literature was pretty heavily laden with missing or dead parents, too. I've often wondered what Yu-san's own parental status was, because of this.

Yeah, it seems to be a common use of Anime and Japanese stories that everyone's parents was either killed or died of sickness.

That'll be because 19th Century England was laden with missing or dead parents what with the wars fought for other countries and general pre-modern medicen diseases.

Yeah, I've noticed that - I even decided to call one of my theories "the Mengcun massacre", lol, even though it doesn't cover all of the paretns killed...

Yeah, I forgot about that. I think the kitten is supposed to be a kind of feline version of Ryo, as their parents died on the same day. Ryo does sympathize a lot with the cat in the game.
