Would AM2 takes suggestions from fans?

Postby asnozz » Mon Jun 16, 2003 4:28 pm

In other popular series that are similar to shenmue the creators have taken suggestions from fans on how the series can be improved. wouldnt it be cool if we could suggest possible scenarios that could happen in shenmue, or an inclusion of a partiular sega arcade game etc... I doubt we would have this chance but if we as fans could add to such a classic game further, just think what could happen

I dont think so, they already know the demand for Shenmue 3. They dont even reply to normal messages anyway.

I can speak but can only read some Japanese, but whenever we see interviews they dont say anything related to what we want to here so basically the matter or knowning Japanese is pointless is this case.

yeah, hey where are u in canada? Toronto? i used to live over in Calgary... wat am i talkin bout?
It would be usuful ifsomeone who could translate the interviews with AM2 better since babblefish and freetranslation.com are pretty crap, although im sure when proper news such as release dates are revealed this wont be a problem.

AM2 does listen to feedback. The biggest reason why Shenmue II had much more action was because fans were demanding it. Yu Suzuki even said it himself.

Not on the story as it is done and Yu knows what he is doing. But perhaps on gameplay.

isnt that what they did in the past? go around asking people what they would like in a game? well, if i could suggest anything in shenmue 3. it would be.. to continue the greatness! dont bring in magic, maybe bike riding. and more arcades. and my god, by all means. keep the FREE feel. the *looks around in 60 frames per second* whoa! i am IN the game kinda feel. lol you know? shenmue 2 gave that feeling. but not half as much as shenmue 1.

I think that they listen to player feedback. The reason why we think they don't is because they're Japanese and we're not. If they don't listen to us, then they listen to japanese gamers. Who cares which... we're really the same.

It seems that they don't know about us or anything. I bet they do. And I'm pretty sure that they actually read what goes on around here... This ain't the smallest forum around. ;) Any good, self-respecting game developer wants to know what's happening in the fan community. Japanese, American or European.

And LanDC, you're wish about there not being any magic - remember the sword - it's already begun... sorry, mate. 8)

I hope they bring back the casette player. It was fun listening to music every once in a while. Although, if they bring Shenmue III to the Xbox, they should allow us to use our own ripped songs as music. That would rock!

no "mate". that happened in Shenmue (II). and that can still be let go VERY easily. it can be explained. and even if they explain it as some magical wonder.. doesnt mean that there will be any more. no one wants it.
