Something Horrible About Shenmue... (Not 100% Sure...)

According to the magazine Game Informer, the Shenmue series has been abandoned by the remnants of Sega and by Microsoft. Like the topic says, I'm not 100% sure. I've learned not to trust Game Informer. But, if Shenmue III is truely dead, it is a loss to all gamers everywhere... I will keep searching for info to see if this is true or not. I'd like any help that can be offered. Thank you.

I actually have a feeling that there won't be a Shenmue III. I like to think there will be, but it's been a very long time. I'm guessing that if one does come out, it won't be for a few years, on possibly one of the next gen or next next gen consoles.

Yeah because SEGA would totally support a new Shenmue MMORPG if the series has been abandoned.

To be honest, us fans probably know more than they do. That sounds like an unhealthy assumption to me, and if 'Game Informer' thinks that Shenmue has been abandoned then why doesn't IGN, or any other (more reliable) sources?

That can't be true, sega just showed of ShenmueOnline at TGS.Why would they just screw it just like that it just don't sound like sega to me.

Perhaps they're thinking of here in the West, and of course Japan.

We still don't know whether Shenmue Online will make it outside of China and Korea, but at least it'll turn a profit (hopefully) the way MMORPGs have been going over there.

At the moment, the main series of Shenmue is probably in limbo. Hopefully Shenmue Online will rekindle interest in the series. If it does, it would probably be a while before Shenmue 3.

Never listen to these idiots on magazines. Why the hell would SEGA not cancel it ages ago then tell some crap magazine that it's been cancelled and they just didn't bother to cancel it an eaiser way. It's probably just someones viewpoint of the situation. Don't listen to it.
