Boycott

Postby Gamer2 » Sun Dec 03, 2006 10:11 pm

What would we do if those guys from Scotland fails to get info from Sega about Shenmue III. What would we do?

Ill tell you what we do, WE BOYCOTT SEGA! Yes, We don't buy any sega games, or....well thats it. We don't even play them on game tap. Dare I say it, don't play your DC for a while.

We organize this all, and email sega saying that we will boycott sega and get more people to join in on our boycott until sega releases information about the future of shenmue.

WHO IS WITH ME, In case those guys fail.

It won't work. The Shenmue community on the internet is relatively small compared to the market at large. Even if every Shenmue fan on the net boycotted Sega, it wouldn't make an impact since there are many casual gamers and non-fans who don't give a damn about Shenmue and would buy Sega's games.

And that's the problem...there are more people that buy games who don't know or care about Shenmue than there are fans. That's why Sega haven't released the game, they don't believe the market is there.

That theory is faulty and has been attempted before. But how will us not playing games or systems we have allready purchased make Sega feel the blow, especially to their pockets. We are at Sega's mercy, on Shenmue. I think there is little anyone can do, either they release it, or they don't.

If they fail, all I can say is, email Sega with just these words

"No Shenmue 3 = Global Riot"

sure it won't work but its worth a try

I think some of us have been staying up too late.

All we need from VG is an answer on where Shenmue stands. All we can keep doing is asking and demanding. We're not going to go away and as soon as Sega realises there's still a market for Shenmue I'm sure they'll want to exploit it and make a quick buck. :P

If we didn't put any more money into Sega then they wouldn't have funds for Shenmue III. But because the Shenmue community is only a minority, Sega wouldn't give a fuck if a couple of hundred people give up on them.

DEATH THREATS!!!!

It got Kojima to make MGS4!

Besides, Rab has already stated he will continue the campaign after the series is over, even if he gets turned down.

Ok, Maybe the not playing games we bought all ready wont work but when you play a Sega game on gametap some one told me that a certain amount goes to sega.

The global riot could be fun.

...For god's sake, do you really think they'd take such a threat seriously?
I'm sick and tired of people on the internet thinking boycotting things will actually make a difference.

I would probably be up for a protest but i the weather is really bad at this time of the year, tornado's and hailstones isn't cool. Anyway i didn't think there were Sega offices in London.

Sega Europe address:

27 Great West Road
Brentford
Middlesex
TW8 9BW

Middlesex, I dont know how far that is from London, I guess it could vary. As Enfield it practically in London, but comes under Middlesex.

Id be up for a protest, when the weather is decent.

EDIT: Looking at some route planner on the internet, Sega offices are 13.3 miles away from me roughly. And I live in North London. Apparently a 35 min drive.
