shenmue.com down..

Postby Phoenix87 » Tue Jan 16, 2007 8:38 pm

Tried www.shenmue.com but it says couldn´t find server. They are probably doin' some routine maintenance but I'm fucking desperate.

Also I check www.smocn.com like every week just to see the ugly sign that says Check back for more news or something like that... I really wish Shenmue was High Priority at Sega but sadly it seems they don't give a shit about the series.

www.shenmue-online.com also has not been updated for over 2 years... that's just not right.

I'm surprised that Yakuza is selling so well the sequel has already sold over 500.000 copies ... that's cool. It's not Shenmue but still it's an Original Sega game that proves they still got some good creative people working for them.

It's a little off topic but is Psy Phi released? or cancelled? read that it was cancelled but then I saw a movie of some guy playing it at his local Game Works... that's a pretty mindblowing game! especially in motion it's gorgouse!

It shows that Yu is still going strong despite what this whole Shenmue Online business can make us think. I only wish that they gave some info...

*tired sigh*

Not loading for me either. I'm hoping it's not just... died :/ It would be fantastic if they were uploading new content or something like that though.

It was shown when I checked it a week or so ago, I think. I hope this means they've
finally decided to switch DNS from Sakuragaoka/Emel's to their own.

I wonder if that was just a "location test" in the US and if it's still playable even now.
Did anyone actually see Psy-Phi at any arcade after July, 2006? :?:

Ha ha ha, wishful thinking. Optimisim at it's best.

Shenmue has been dead for years now guys, if we're gonna find any new information then we'll get it at a game show, they're not gonna post any confirmation through the back door and on the site. I know it's not a series that holds a great deal of priority for them anymore but I'm sure there would be a fair amount of fanfare to coincide with it's announcement (albeit a little). Expect the annual flurry of expectation at E3, only for everyone to have their hopes dashed when it fails to appear, again.

^ The E3 flurry happens every year. As well as the TGS flurry. So many people were so sure it would happen at TGS last year, but nothing.

thx! like your nick

Day 2 of downtime for www.shenmue.com

How long does a routine maintenance take?

I seriously crave to play a new Yu Suzuki game right now...

Anyhow on the "Newest" trailer from China Joy I've noticed that the character before entering the little path beyond the great tree stops for some seconds and when entering the path you can see some serious pop-up graphics..(also the gameplay seems to lag when the player is running trought the enviroments) now my thought about this is that since the game is still produced by Suzuki-san and he is renowned for his graphical accomplishes in his videogames I think maybe that's one of the reasons SO haven't been exposed to the public here inte the west.. because of our standards when it comes to graphics in videogames... it's just a thought but it kinda makes some sense to me.

I have a hard time beliving that Shenmue Online when released is set for a China/Korea release only.. I see this as just a first step to see the potential of the game in public. Then when a certain amount of success is achieved they undoubtly will unveil the game for US/EU gamers aswell. Atleast that's what I think, what about you guys?
