But this is not funny because VF5 is Sega-AM2's game and
as you all know Shenmue was a AM2 game too...

you'll find something about Ryo too
But for now I have just
heard that there is a Ryo-looking character in VF5
as a secret character!

Heh, pretty cool. I remember in VF4 Evo's quest mode there was an Akira character called "Ryo Hazuki" and a Sarah called "Chunyan" ;)

If I find anymore Shenmue references while playing VF5, I'll be sure to post them here. That Pai character almost gave me a heart attack when I read it though.

And yeah, I've already played against Ryuutoushi in the game. Rather bland, boring character I must say. It sucks you can't really customize Akira to look like Ryo, they should've thrown in his brown tiger jacket and jeans. :(

Sadly no, I don't have a camera on me. I'm also unsure of which arcade I met the Pai in. The Pai itself looks a lot like Xiaoyu from Tekken 4, with the pink and white outfit. You can find videos on Youtube with that outfit.

The tagline is displayed on the match-up screen in the "PR" section right below the character's mug, and "Shen Fa" is displayed during the fight under her life bar/match up screen.

For now you'll have to take my word on it, unless someone else can confirm it with me.

UPDATE: I got some more information about that character. It's in the Club Sega Bay Area arcade, and its rank is 9th Dan, if someone wants to see it for themselves.

I thought that those names were the names from real players in the arcade? Since I once read that the AI for the players in VF 4 was collected from the arcades. So maybe some fans chose those names. But I don't know about the tagline though.

Seriously though, it does sound promising. If there is a God, the Shenmue tree will bloom again this spring and we'll hear something. Now that Virtua Fighter 5 is out of the way (except for the 360 port), AM2 have a lot more time on their hands for Shenmue. Correct me if I am wrong, but there aren't any other games AM2 are known to be working on at the current time.

I don't know of any other current projects that AM2 are working on. I'm just determined not to make anything out of these small references and big announcements that have recently come up, Sega are just playing with our minds.
