Sega recently revealed that 12 more characters have still to be announced for Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing (due out in January). Of these, 4 will apparently "excite" long-time Sega fans.

Rather than reveal the characters outright, Sega have been posting a "fill in the blanks" phrase on their blog and on their Twitter feed. With 2 more letters added each day. The phrase when completed will hint at the identity of one of those characters.

As of today, here's what the phrase is reading:

O------ I- R--- ---- D----- M----- M-- A----- C----- -- R-----Y

The rumour going around the internets is that the solution is:

I think that pretty much speaks for itself! Here's hoping!

I doubt it, if it's the same guys who made Superstars Tennis. The reason Ryo isn't in these type of games is he's not "cartoony" enough. Probably use the same excuse here.

The next AM2 Virtua Fighter on the other hand..

I don't really think that's a valid reason myself, afterall Smash Bros is a mix of cartoony and realistic characters - nothing wrong with a mishmash! Besides Akira appeared alongside Sonic and co in that Eye Toy thing. (Personally I think they might have thought that characters like Ryo playing tennis were a bit OOC, but racing is fair game....cos Ryo did it!)

The next few letters are unveiled on monday, maybe it'll be clearer then.

It would be something, but an inclusion in the VF series, now that would be really something else. Even if they only made the clothes of Ryo, Lan Di and others available, to custom Akira, etc. .

Maybe the 'phrase' is really the names of the characters, not a hint. It makes more sense this way, and the second could be Ryo...

We can only hope he's in it. It would be awesome to see what a next-gen Ryo looks like.

Obviously the key word here is Dragon. If we get another letter for the word and it fits the bill then i reckon there's probably a 90% chance they're on about Ryo here.

I would buy the game just to be Ryo. Maybe he can figure out a way to get off the track and go to Bali!

That would be unbelievably awesome and that sentence game is fun since it really fits your theory. Before reading that I had no idea what else could be there except for another word instead of "Closer" and.. "Dragon Mirror". However it's really hard to create a different sentence making sense.

Oh please Sega I so want to see Ryo there.

If he is in this I would think that there is a good chance of getting Shenmue III soon.

Tense stuff this is but they will probably reveal the significant "D" word till last!

Haha, that's pretty crazy if you're right. I'd probably buy it just to play as Ryo, despite the fact I know I'd be pissing away my cash on a shitty C-grade racer I'd play for 5 minutes and be like "oh cool," and never touch again. What a fucking sap Shenmue has made me.

If Ryo's in a forklift, I will literally shit my pants. Willfully.

i dont see why they wouldnt put ryo in this game, sega own the rights to him & alot of people follow shenmue. win,win?
