RYO RETURNS! Sonic & Sega racing!

(Chapter 7 and beyond)

Sega owns the game and its intellectual material, however in order to release Shenmue 2 in any form in North America requires microsoft to be either the publisher or to licsence out the publishing right to a third party.

Not really. If they re-made Shenmue II, it wouldn't be the Shenmue II that Microsoft struck a deal over, so they couldn't say shit about it.

this is the best news for a long time, at least since shenmue online. I actually kinda miss shenmue online, at least they were making another shenmue game. Perhaps shenmue 3 was in shenmue online? Oh well, thats long gone now. But this is good news. Although Ryo is probably just a unlockable character who is hard to unlock. Lets hope he does talk in it, although if Corey doesnt do it, it will be hard to take it seriously when someone else does his voice. I heard Corey retired, anyone know if that is true?

Huh. All I see was a cheesey trailer for a game that isn't looking very good.

I have faith in Sumo Digital. Sega Superstars Tennis was a fun little game, and their work with Outrun and Virtua Tennis has been great. I'm fully expecting this game to deliver.

I thought the trailer looked good, probably the best-looking track I have seen so far for the game. The only thing cheesy about the trailer is the narrator, but it' not like he is going to be in the game or anything.

Oh and the game looks fine to me, If it plays anything like the Outrun games that were on the Xbox then it should be win.

It won't play anything like Outrun. More like Mario Kart.

If it's half as good as Mario Kart it will be worth buying still.

I concur. I picked up OutRun 2 early on and was terribly surprised with how well it captured the Sega look/feel, as well as delivering on the gameplay side. OutRun 2006, VT and SST all continued that trend, so I've got a fair amount of confidence in Sumo Digital.

At the very least, considering Sega's track record lately, SD is a lot more consistent than many of Sega's own in-house studios.
