It would certainly get people talking. Not just us but the gaming media as well.

As much as I'd like to think that Ryo's possible inclusion could mean that SEGA are thinking about Shenmue again, I'm not sure if that's the case. Alex Kidd is in this game (as he was in the previous SEGA franchise reunion game Sega Superstars Tennis), but there hasn't been a new game in that franchise for almost 20 years.
Plus the game is being developed by Sumo Digital, not SEGA themselves, who actually have to ask SEGA for permission to use their characters, so it's not as if SEGA themselves are coming up with the idea to include Ryo (if indeed he is confirmed.)

If *any* Shenmue characters are in this, my pre-order is going in straight away. If this is true and Sega are still acknowledging Shenmue, this could be the best chance we'll get for showing our support.

Still works!

However, it could be "driver" and may refer to an Outrun car or a Hang On motorcycle

It's strangely irritating I want to know what it is but regardless I'm not buying the game..

I have to admit this has gotten me very intrigued, and excited to boot.

I dont care what game it is, this will be the next Sega title to officially feature Ryo Hazuki, our star of Shenmue! For me, buying this game could potentially show support for both the character and thus the series.

Also id love to see how Ryo looks almost 10 years on, and in HD!!!!

Yeah, here's hoping that brown leather jacket isn't stuck to his body with super glue.

ctually now ive thought about this all morning, im not gonna get my hopes up. Id be 90% sure its "DRIVER" and not "DRAGON", indicating that the guy with his blonde girfriend will be available in their Outrun car. I know we can hope, but logic prevails for me. Its a racing game for a start, and the Outrun games were a lot more successful. Also a red sports car is a lot more attractive than a forklift.

On a plus side, it was good to read Beat from Jet Set Radio will be in the game. :D

I'm not so sure. Perhaps I'm optimistic, but adding the word 'driver' to a pretty standard phrase just clutters it.

Example...

If you google "objects in rear view mirror may" you get a TON of results, all relating to the classic phrase.

If you google "objects in rear view driver mirror may" you get about 5 results, all relating to people trying to guess the Sega puzzle.

I might eat my words later, but at the moment it makes very little sense to me for 'driver' to be the more likely word.

Exactly, the phrase we use in everyday life is rear view mirror and i don't think by putting rear view driver mirror gives any clue to anything and it just sounds retarded.
