Hello guys. I've been a long time lurker and I decided to finally sign up.
Anyway, it seems like that there has been tons of Shenmue news in the past 2-3 months then there has been in the last several years. As any Shenmue fan knows, it's always safe to take that news with a grain of salt. But what feels so different this time is that there's so much news that's constructive and based off of facts (such as Ryo in the new racing game).
This is definitely a positive moment for the Shenmue fan. That's obvious and it's been said in other topics. But I just get this weird feeling that something is going to surface about Shenmue this year. Whether it's a remake, online port of the first two or the much anticipated sequel. Something is going to happen here and I just feel it.
I just really want to say that as a fan, I think if this does happen. We have ourselves to thank for it and the leaders who made it all possible. Had we not been so vocal, Sega would have simply shoved this series under the rug. Sending those boxes of (capsules, toys I think) items to Sega headquarters reassured to them that what we want from them is Shenmue and nothing else.
Anyway, I just have a feeling that some company will jump at the chance to secure Shenmue because time has somewhat caught up to Yu Suzuki's vision and I truly do not think Shenmue III will take another 70 million to make. With Shenmue being one of if not the most biggest cult following in gaming today, there's no doubt in my mind that Sega would turn a profit from it.
Anyway, I just would like to know if you guys feel the same way I do. We've rallied before as fans of the series. But I think this next one will be the final rally to finally get what we've dreamed of, Shenmue III
