If you go to the oficial Shenmue city page there is a link to the oficial shenmue gai Twitter. Once you are there this twitter account is following to yu_suzuki_jp.
Maybe we can create an account and show some support to Yu by sending a mp or a tweet, maybe then he could launch his crappy game in occident...

They never gave a time but did say they plan this gen to go past the norm 5 year cycle.
Redesigned systems,Move,Kinect,Wii sales and just the fact they cost so much more than previous gens to manufacture.
ESP since it can cost up to a 100 mill to develop some high profile games that has sent many developers bankrupt or forced to merge.
They been saying it for quite some time now. Sony I think is the only one with a specific time with 10 years.
