What console do you want Shenmue 3 on? Fantasy or Reality

Since there is not an awfull lot to talk about in the Shenmue 3 section then i have following question:
(Hypotetically ofcourse)


If Shenmue for some reason came out this year, would you like to have it on the Dreamcast (with its spec) or the 360?


I would for sure perfer a Dreamcast version!

Shenmue started on Dreamcast, and i belive that it belongs to the Dreamcast!
I´le would rather have a plain version with Dreamcast graphic!
No DLC, no bullshit, just shitty graphic and allot of euforia:D

In a total fantasy world. Dreamcast. In a more modern system PS3 or Wii-U.
I prefer more Wii-U just since it has that giant VMU and be cool for QTE on a touch screen. Also display moves list on the controller screen and speech menu normally on the TV but now on the contoller. Controller can also act as a hud. All working vert similar to a DS. Just no motion added or other gimmicks.

Id want it on 360 and PS3. If it comes down to one or the other then.. Id have to say 360. Even though I like the PS3 more overall, the 360 version could have some more online features ala passport that LIVE would do a better job at. Also id like some sense of conformity to the series. We already had a jump for DC to xbox so I say stick with Xbox cause sales could be better.

I know alot of people would like it on DC cause thats nostalgic and what not but id really rather see it done up in a modern deserving way that shows we've been waiting 10 years.

But i wonder how we would feel about the new graphic! All the charecters will look different, and i think that a new game engine(?) could ruin allot of the charm in the game!
The mainstream would expect modern gameplay in Shenmue (i guess). I dont think there are to much room for following old chineese people for hours anymore .. (stuff that I and proberly alot of others feel belongs in our Shenmue)

maybe im being to conservative here, but I belive that even though if we waited 10 years, shenmue should stay like it was.
I have a feeling that if Shenmue 3 comes out on 360/Ps3 I would for some reason be dissapointed since the gameplay would change because of the modern gamers!

My worst nightmare after all this waiting is a Shenmue 3 that would make me whish it never saw the face of this earth.

This is ofcourse fantasy and stupid of me to even bring up, but i belive that some of the die-hard fans would agree with me!

Fuck the mainstream. Shenmue is niche series and keep it that way. Keep it true to it's roots. Don't alter it to fit with a mass audience. It would be ruined.

In a fantasy world, definitely the Dreamcast 2. Mostly because I really believe we get SEGA at its best when it dedicates itself to one platform, even more so when it's theirs. They obviously feel compelled to muster their best in order to sell their machine. I honestly think that we wouldn't be satisfied with Shenmue 3 if some of the passion SEGA lost in the software-only transition didn't come back.
In the real world, without a doubt, the PS3. And the PC, maybe. The PS3 has better japanese market penetration than the 360, it's a system some of SEGA's studios have already mastered, and the blu-ray discs are the better medium for a game as big as Shenmue.

i agree with Ryudo, thinkin about now the Wii-U be a great system for SIII
and also at this rate i can see SIII being on next-gen consoles (PS4,Xbox 720).
