^Yu is not really a gamer. He himself said it before. He adores to create games and to amaze people with them, to play them himself not so much.

Maybe Shenmue Gai on smartphones will be a slightly different, more interesting app/game?
I hope that they are ending service in feature phones and advancing to more powerful systems for a reason other than market strategy alone.

It's THE END.

Sadly, I was right in everything I said about Shenmue Gai. It ended up being the last nail in the Shenmue's coffin.

I will once again say that I'm totally over this series. It's dead.

Walls of text from people who still believe that Yu will magically finish the series are beyond lame at this point.

Isn't this the same exact news to which Kiyuu made this topic? What about what Yu Suzuki stated in his interview?

Yu Suzuki
The first version we know on mobiles will end. However Shenmue Gai will continue on smartphones.

It will be an even bigger flop on smartphones. Like I said before, Yu is out of touch with reality. It really shows he doesn't actually know much about gamers themselves. He lives in his own world and it's an overkill because he keeps on making stupid business decisions. Let's face it, Yu is - ironically - the last guy who can actually gather money to make Shenmue 3. That's why I'm sure that the series is dead.

Give Yu a break. He had one major upset in his career and that was releasing shenmue on a dying console like the dreamcast and a console which had not yet developed, the xbox. Im sure if he had released it on a ps2 it would of done much better. But Yeah, i think its way to early for anyone to judge the guys work. Lets wait until we see all his current projects develop and take it from there. He no's how much we want Shenmue 3 and the more he goes to these conferences, the more he will realise this as well as SEGA.

Actually, no. That wasn't his world. That was his world+fascination with China and martial arts. Now there's only his world. The man has been dragged through hell and back and he didn't take it that well. No matter how much he smiles now, he is finished in this business. Good thing that he was so creative and visionary in the past because the past is the only thing he has left. Sorry to say this, but Yu had his era and that era is long gone.

You guys can wait as long as you want, but I'm moving away from the Shenmue segments of this board. Not worth the time to read the same shit people have been lying themselves into believing for the past ~10 years.

I don't think this means nothing at all for the franchise, if it was dead before, it's dead now in the same way.

Hope it's the last thing you lose, and I will not lose my hopes till Yu dies or I die, but I'm not stupid, the chance to get SIII is close to zero.
