Topic title.

Last we heard was the Toulhouse Game Show when Yu Suzuki said he would like to make a smart phone version, and the Mobage Town thing ended in December 2011, but has anyone heard anything? Particularly Kiyuu?

Didn't the developer close it's doors and Gai servers shut down?

Well, YS Net was the developer, and they split from Yahoo/Mobage Town, and those servers were closed. That version is discontinued, but I thought they were trying o bring it to smart phones for another try.

I understood that it was still around under a new company and that Yu was the one interested in maybe movie it to smart phones.

It's Yu's company that developed it, for sure. YS Net was making it.

So, essentially it's what I just said, the service as we know it is terminated, but we don't know when/if it will return. Back to square one: has anyone (Kiyuu) heard any news?

I'm afraid no one has heard any news on Shenmue-gai since its termination of the Mobage service. Even the YS Net's website no longer has the link to the Shenmue-gai official site as you see here:

http://www.ysnet-inc.jp/

The chances of its return for smartphones are pretty slim, I'm afraid.

Interesting...if they're leaking the secret, maybe it's been under wraps for awhile, maybe since Gai shut down on Mobage? Maybe it could be it, maybe not. Hm...

Nothing Shenmue-related ever seems to go well it seems.

Even with the information that he is working on something new it didn't seem to go as planned. Specifically : restoring the Shenmue brand and building up to something bigger.

They have an e-mail address.

[email protected]

Do they ever reply, I wonder?
