we have been waiting a long time for shenmue 3.
i want to put it to a poll, when do you think shenmue 3 will come out?

Given the longevity of some topics, if someone doesn't vote in the poll until this time next year, will they have to add a year to their vote, or be counted in the same tally as those who in fact believe it will be out a year sooner?

I hate saying it but the series is dead. I doubt we ever see another release. However if the HD release happens then will have some hope. Problem is they can't wait too long as most likely next year PS4,Xbox 3 will be announced and doom Shenmue to come out at the end of a console's life. If the HD release is not announced by at the very most summer next year then nothing will happen.

A 20 year gap? I know video games are a newish entertainment medium, but I highly doubt even this site will exist then. It's like John Sheridan waiting to die.

You're seriously questioning if this site will exist seven years from now? And I anticipate the Shenmue HD upgrades being released around winter 2014, with production of Shenmue III picking up straight after. Five years it'll take. SEGA still see it as a killer app under the correct circumstances, so would definitely put the time, money, and effort into it if they believed they'd reap the benefits from it.

Who knows when. If we dont see HD remake of shenmue by summer or anytime next year, our only hope is it will appear as a full game in Kiryu Kazuma's Sunflower Orphanage during a 6th or 7th installment of Yakuza lol

yeah as technology moves on, i wouldn't be surprised if it shenmue3 comes out as a DLC add on to some random game
so quite a few members dont believe they will ever see a shenmue3,
thats a shame

2040. But it won't be S3 as we think, by that time we would have made the technology to be able to create your own dreams so S3 will be a creation of your own imagination.

I have voted! I love the way that it's either got to be 2015 or never, everyone seems to agree on that. But it's blatantly going to be 2015. But let's get more specific now, when in 2015? I've got my money on July 1st , as that's the very auspicious day that Earth, Venus, and Jupiter will be aligned. Any astrologer worth his salt will know that that is the moment Shenmmue 3 will emerge.
I now want Shenmue 3 to be added to 2015's wiki page's "predicted events" section on that day.
