Does anyone actually think Sega even wants to make Shenmue 3? I don't know. It's an honest question. They just always seem to have absolutely no interest in talking about it or entertaining any talk of it. Even in a perfect world with millions to funnel into a sequel I wonder if they'd even consider it. I just don't know if they're mad at how much the first two cost to develop and how much they lost, or if they don't really see a fan base who would buy a sequel. And say Nintendo, Sony or whoever seriously showed interest in buying the IP or going in with Sega to make a new game, would Sega care? And how much would the IP cost? Is it realistic anyone would buy it?

Honestly the most encouraging thing I've seen in the past several years was when they included Ryo in Allstar Racing. At least they finally acknowledged Shenmue ever existed. And that mobile game just seemed insulting. And then there's the people who apparently love to play with people's emotions and post unfounded speculation about what latest company is consider the sequel. It's all so tiring. Somehow I never seem to lose all hope though.

I was already looking into the PS4, but now I'll only get it if this is announced. Its going to be weird. I have Shenmue Chapter 1 on the Dreamcast, Shenmue 2 on the Xbox and now 3 on the PS4? Whatever! I'll be a Shenmue fan wherever the series may go. Im just not buying another console until its confirmed.

I think it really is a matter of finance. From a business perspective, I could see why they would be hesitant to pull the trigger considering they lost all that money. The game was ahead of its time, but perhaps in this day and age it could sell better. I think the new Shenmue fans that have accumulated over the last decade with the addition of the legion of pissed off, money-ready shenmue fans, it could get them profit

Cool pic and all, but yeah I'm not getting overly excited just yet. It sounds to me like this woman might have just wanted to create a little hype and get a little attention. I could be wrong however, and there is a (slim) chance that she did overhear some Shenmue 3 convo between the two of them and so felt duty bound to inform the legion of starving Shenmue fans out there. I do really want to believe Cerny can be our (and Yu's) knight in shining armour.
