It's good to see the man's passion hasn't left him after all this time. I still feel like he has a few good games in him, and I hope he gets funding for Shenmue 3. The spiritual successor sounds interesting as well though; I'm sure he could pull it off given the proper time and resources.

One thing I definitely have to commend him for is his prideful willingness to give help and advice to his peers, whether they be his competition or not. We need more developers who can let go of their ego in order to bring up everyone else with them.

It seems that Suzuki-san is planning to earn money for his studio by doing more mobile/social titles and and the same time keep trying to push at least one of his bigger projects to the publishers.

When we were discussing his mobile games before I wondered if it was a way for him to get back. It seems as if this would be correct then.

What he mentioned about the difference between Eastern and Western business and game development is very true though. In Japan many still (across all business fields) try to maintain that "crafted" aspect. I happened to read an article about this by someone from here working over there. And he mentioned that this really was the case and noticeable even during meetings. It's interesting though that Yu talks about this business vs art aspect.
