Shenmue Dojo

The following is essential to the success of the next event.

1) Keep the regular hashtag (giveyutheshenmuelicence)

2) include sony's #buildingthelist in every tweet, as it also contains a large amount of Shenmue support.(Hell, it's what made sony take notice of the ip in the first place.)

3) include sega, sony, adam boyes, giocorsi and mark cerny in your tweet.

4) PLEASE, PLEASE, EVERYONE who is in a better position for promoting this event, DO SO. (youtubers adam koralik, ziming etc. also any neogafers, please post a thread to gain attraction, owner of the dojo and shenmuemaster etc, provide constant updates on the frontpage). You have the resources to make this event much bigger, so why not use them?

5)In every promotion, mention the thunderclap procedure, so no one misses out on the day.

6)The rest of us can spread the word around as much as possible. Do this in any shape or form. Gain as much support as possible, much like when Ryo was in that Sega racing poll.

Lets make December 3th a special day.

I agree with the rest of your points a thousandfold, but not so much these two.

The hashtag was already due to change before this Sony thing even started, and the new one will be more appropriate for this situation and be more versatile in others. It was always going to be a risky business changing the hashtag but I think the Tweetathon has a sturdy enough following now to minimize teething problems with the changeover.

I see what you're saying about adding #BuildingTheList to these tweets, but having more than one hashtag in a tweet vastly reduces the chance of anything trending, and if we got the new hashtag trending that would speak volumes. People didn't only use Sony's suggested hashtag to request games, they @mentioned Gio Corsi in their tweets so they got seen either way, and people can still do that now, along with any other Sony execs they see fit.

I absolutely agree with your points, too, but I would like to point out a nicety... Mark Cerny's supposedly Twitter account, that is @MarkCernyPS4, is a fake one. But, we should include and mention the other accounts, like @sony, @playstation, @yosp, @amboyes, @giocorsi, @sega et cetera, accompanied with only one hashtag, currently that is #GiveYuTheShenmueLicense, for trending purposes (as LGS said).

Well in that case, maybe we can use the regular hashtag and just convey our desire for sony to pick up the ip via the tweet message.

We definitely need to include the big guns as Giorgio has mentioned. (@sony, @playstation, @yosp, @amboyes, @giocorsi, @sega)

I think it would be a good idea for as many people to favourite and respond to this tweet as possible, a strong reaction to someone who we know is paying attention can only be positive

Whilst it's not a bad thing, I don't think we should read too much into it. Just like at Sega, the people manning the @Playstation account on Twitter are pretty low down the totem pole. So the chances of them being privvy to any solid information this soon are similarly low I expect. I think it was just a friendly wink in response to a (partly) tongue-in-cheek reply to their question that made them smile, against the backdrop of the deluge of Shenmue tweets they've been receiving lately. It's still much better customer service than Sega's been giving though, by a long shot.

Here's another opportunity to amplify the statement we've already made to Sony.

The UK's Official PlayStation Magazine is querying Facebook users on which game or series you want to see on PS4 that hasn't already been announced for the next gen. "Best" answers will appear in issue 92 of the magazine, on sale December 20th. Let's see if we can get Shenmue featured in Sony's own publication and maybe stoke some fires...
