Winning a few polls for both XBox and PlayStation but I dare say these votes are in the low thousands which is again good enough reason for me to think SEGA's smartest move would be digital releases on both of MS and Sony's machines or just XBox One and PlayStation 4.

Awesome! Shenmue, especially its fanbase (and its demand power), along importantly with the #SaveShenmue campaign, will get more exposure/promotion, both on their web-site and on their magazine, thus results in more support for the cause.

Sega have lost the trademark to Shenmue, this means a number of things, 1 they don't have enough evidence to show they are still active with shemnue or they have got rid of it all together, this means one more thing, it is now up for sale probably, which all points to sony picking it up as a first party game maybe, it's all hear say as normal

The trademark isn't a big deal, it is merely the word "Shenmue".

Digital release wouldn't bother me, since it still means we get Shenmue 3.

I hack all my consoles anyway, so I'll just convert it to disc release if needed.

It does mean that Sega aren't bothered and Sony probably could buy the rights to it or at least fund it, and with Yu Suzuki and Mark Cerny quite friendly with one another I wouldn't put it past them to make it an exclusive and make this happen, I mean is it not strange that were now all of a sudden having a GDC event about shenmue 14years after shenmue 2 was made, I mean I've never heard of this for any other game, I'm probably over thinking it all and wanting this game more and more but all this activity something must be happening.

I think too many are setting themselves up for disappointment with this post mortem. And I remember Yu and Cerny doing one a few years back with Yu saying only about 100k would buy Shenmue now days.

I wonder how much a kickstarter would raise. I kinda think we'd be surprise at how much people would shell out. If I knew it would lead to a video game I could see donating $200-$300. But after that I've got bills to pay.

I don't think you understand how trademarking works. Their application was rejected because they weren't using it as planned (it was for Shenmue Online, not the main series)
