Regardless of whether you like Nintendo or not we all want Shenmue 3. Well, Shigeru Miyamoto has asked Kotaku for its readers' most wanted games. Please go here and upvote this guy's request for Shenmue. We don't have to be #1 but if it at least gets high marks maybe we'll get noticed.

He'll be the first comment with this link:

I don't think the Wii U is the best system for Shenmue but Sega has a good relationship with Nintendo. Anything that gets us Shenmue 3 or at least HD remakes apart from EA is ok with me.

Another highly influential person in the video game industry we can spam with Shenmue requests. He asked for it!

I also think that the WiiU isn't the ideal plattform for Shenmue but it's still perfectly fine to pull of Remakes and Shenmue III in a way we can all be happy with. After all what counts it that it does happen at last.

I'm not sure If I want Shenmue on the Wii-U :???:
Is better than nothing but I don't think is the best platform to succeed.

Fuck Shenmue III, a Minesweeper game would make the Wii-U an instabuy for me.

It would be weird if they found a way to use the touch pad for a game set in the 80's, other than to show the map at all times.

I don't see it doing well on any platform it's released on personally. I'd rather just have it than not have it, which is far better than nothing.

Hey, whatever helps. Though I don't see a kotaku spam being too helpful to the cause, now if he had done this via twitter we would have a better shot at getting heard. Done regardless though.

Follow-up:

We got mentioned in the list! Way to go guys!

41 votes for a new Shenmue, though, as you know, that's not a game Nintendo made. Still, the reader who nominated it really wants it:
You could manipulate objects in the environment by touching them on the GamePad! You can communicate with NPCs through voice and gesture recognition - the Game-Pads camera will lip read and help recognize your commands better than conventional voice recognition.

Great! But also pity it got only 41 votes. We called other places to vote, but they went up all lazy bones. Wasted chance to do better...

I almost want to say I'd rather not have it at all at this point. The wait has ruined any chance of it being particularly well-received. It's been too built-up in the minds of established fans. I can't imagine us being anything other than underwhelmed by it. And aside from that, technology has jumped to such a degree that no matter if the game turns out just as originally planned, there will still be a serious sense of discord in the atmosphere of it next to the originals.
It's almost better just to dream at this point.
