Same. Not because I don't like pointless fights (fucking love 'em), but I can go play Yakuza for that.
I've always loved that despite being decent-length games, you can actually pick out and remember every single scuffle from Shenmue because they're few and far between, leaving a bigger impression on you when they occur.

Oh, and the new stretch goals sound great.
Me wants that infiltration mission. No clue what it is, but I want it.

So what i am thinking, essentially these new locations, like Baisha Village are side areas to add new side missions/characters into.

If the minimum was 2 million, thats more or less the essential story locations and plot progression.

Obviously they have way more goals in mind since Shenmue storyline is so deep. If you look under the 5 mill mark you can see that there is another bar for another goal to be funded. Just like with bloodstained Koji Igarashi started a 500,000 and then a plethora of news goals came after reaching the 2 mill mark.

Infiltration Mission sounds so intriguing!

Can you make an open world game for just $2 million?

No, we cannot make an open world game for $2 million. Shenmue will be produced using both the funds raised from the Kickstarter and through other funding sources already secured by Ys Net Inc. We are very sorry, but due to contractual obligations, details of outside investments will not be disclosed.
How will the funds raised through Kickstarter be used?

The funding collected through Kickstarter will go towards game development, minus Kickstarter's fees and the costs associated with running a Kickstarter.

I cannot believe that I am writing this right now. After playing the Dreamcast release of Shenmue 2 my interest in current day gaming slowly decreased. I still have had an interest in current gaming, but my enjoyment of games from that era and prior have been greater. I can hardly believe that the interest in Shenmue is so great that we have been able to raise over $3 million in two days. I have contributed $160 myself.

I, along with only a few others, believe that gaming is capable of a lot better than just violence, gore, and a few sports games thrown in. The pinnacle of gaming is about an all-immersive experience! Shenmue's goal was indeed this all-immersive experience. I am so happy, overjoyed even, to see that this goal is going to continue through Shenmue 3. Wow, just wow! I hope the Kickstarter raises more than $5 million!

Reading that FAQ and Sony confirming that they're part funding I think we will get a psychical copy. It just says that the Kickstarter will only offer a digital version not that it will only be a digital game.

That being said, maybe they could expand on the underground sport fighting aspect from Shenmue II. I like the idea of always being able to find a fight if you want it, and you could even be rewarded with experience, money, etc.

Will there be an Xbox/Wii U/Linux/Mac version for Shenmue 3?

Currently we are planning development only for PC (Windows) and PS4. Other platforms have not been decided yet.

Will there be a physical copy reward for PS4?

The Shenmue 3 Kickstarter will only be offering the digital download version for the PlayStation Network.

Is this game affiliated with SEGA?

SEGA has officially given us the rights to use the "Shenmue 3" license.

Are there plans for the HD versions of Shenmue 1 & 2?

The property rights for Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 belong to SEGA, so we are not in a position to comment on that.

Will payments be accepted through PayPal?

We are considering Paypal as a payment option. If a PayPal option is added, there will be an announcement on the Update page.
