A few things about Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ysnet/shenmue-3/
1. You only get charged when a project meets it's goal.
2. The more you donate the more rewards you get:
3. If the game makes more then the $2 million they ask for it still goes towards making the game. The more it raises the more ambitious the game can be.
4. The chances are that the budget will be bigger then that just raised on Kickstarter. Yu probably has someone throwing in money somewhere else as well.
5. The video just shows concept.

Don't forget to mention two other areas mentioned in the Kickstarter video not yet listed in the stretch goals, since they are unspecified amounts at the moment.

ive never used Kickstarter before. is it quite straight forward?, any extra fees on top of what you give?

Nope.
It's a glorified donation site, where you actually can get something depending on the amount you donate. No extra fees on the donor's part. Only extra fees are on the one who posted the crowdfunding site (ie Shenmue III) which is a percentage taken after the project is successfully funded, all dependent on the site.

Some really silly questions so please forgive me (I'm still in utter shock re: Shenmue 3 annoucement)....but I hope someone can clarify a few points for me (I've never donated to kickstarter before):
1) Does anyone know how the donation process works? Do you enter the amount you wish to pledge and then it takes you to a section where you can enter your credit/debit card details?
2) Do you get any sort of receipt to show you've donated 'x amount' of money?
3) Really silly question; I'm in the UK, and will be pledging some money towards Shenmue 3. I'm assuming the donations are displayed in American / US dollars ($)? The reason I ask is so I can look up the exchange rate so I know exactly how much I can afford to donate.
If anyone can help clarify these points it would be most appreciated.

1) You simply donate with your credit or debit card like a payment on any other website. Select the ammount you would like to pledge, click next enter your details and thats it. The money is not taken from your card untill the Kick Starter completes.
2) Yes you get emailed all the confirmation.
3) xe.com will convert currencies for you.

My big question is... what spoken languages will the game be in?
I'm hoping for the original Japanese cast with English subtitles? Has anyone seen any news on this?
