What's especially dumb about the premise of that article is that Ys Net is it's own company with it's own operating costs, so any money from that kickstarter will directly help them.

Yahoo cache of the page.

Having a journalist family member, I can't speak badly in general of journalists. However, I can say this is an EXTREMELY uninformed article, with no research or backing. It's something which would be better kept to forum topics, blog posts, etc, than a "news" article.

The post seems templated of the many Steam Greenlight doubter articles. At least those have justifications. Shenmue has the backing of its fans, Sony, and even SEGA to the extent of their fear in letting go of the brand. What it fails to realize is the Kickstarter money goes toward Shenmue 3 being more comprehensive of the overall story of the game. Sony is going to make sure the game happens make sure it is what people want it to be. By Kickstarting the game to nearly the smallest tier, you're already getting the game...

I can't keep that paragraph going. The article is just too much... honestly crap. It wouldn't be healthy for me to go on.
