An example of my hypothesis:

The textures for Ryo's jacket in S3 were created from scratch, but they probably used the old texture as a reference in order to keep that same feel. Hence, it's creating from scratch while still using the assets in some capacity.

Merely my speculation, but it makes sense.

It was an enjoyable AMA, however he mentioned somewhere about achieving a $10 goal for the best possible experience, sadly I don't see that happening with how the Kickstarter has stalled. I hate the negativity of gamers at times, I blame those types for scaremongering potential backers away by saying Sony is funding it fully when we don't actually know the full details.

We finally get Shenmue 3 and people complain and make it out to be a really bad thing.
