You shouldn't be able to pull out!!! It's just stupid! Kickstarter should have a 24 hour or maybe even 48 hour cooling off period where you can reduce your pledge or back out completely, but after that, it should be made clear that you are locked in. I know it would be unpopular, but it just opens up too much potential for trolls or people backing out otherwise.
Set12 mentioned that someone's Kickstarter got ruined by troll pledges. This shouldn't be able to happen and Kickstarter should do something about it! (e.g. My above suggestion).
The problem is that you can cancel any transaction made on your credit card during the last 4 or so weeks. And even after the credit card company has charged your bank account, you can disallow their debit retrospectively, so there's not a lot Kickstarter could do. If someone doesn't wanna pay, they're not gonna pay.

Nah, I put in more than that but if there is a $1000 or $2000 option that comes up I may take it. I'm not rich but I'm willing to give to this project.

I could take the $500 blow right now, but i'm hoping to be in an even better position towards the end of the campaign, since I get paid weekly - it just never seems to go very far after bills

Lost like another 10k again after that, but can't see where from, looks to be 1 of the $3k jackets, but some more missing aswell...It's horrible, don't know what people are finding funny about this.
