Updated on the image! And the word before them is "Currently".

Today I asked a native Japanese speaker to have a look at the image... and according to her, these are not actually numbers but messily-written Japanese characters! The word means "to be accomplished" or "to be achieved".

Actually really like that Father--->Ryo--->Promiss--->Shahua bit.. when I think of a promiss from Iwao the first thing that comes to mind is his last words.. "Keep friends, those you love, close to you."
This seems like a fitting central theme to the end of the entire Shenmue story.

I don't know it might be akin to that Prince of Persia game that was targeted toward people that weren't good at games but was still great.

Trying to read the blurry notebook reminds me of Ryo trying to decode the Chinese letter in Shenmue I: "I was wondering if you could translate this letter for me..."

Yeah, with the processed image you made, those "numbers" were magically transformed into characters, like a kind of optical illusion.

I know this is not directly related to Shenmue III, but something to be considered in the long term, and indeed an all time favourite request for an English translation; Shenmue Premiere video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9sd3NtjPfY. Therefore, if you are interested, that would be a legendary contribution to Shenmue's legacy. :)

Looks like a great candidate for translation. I guess its length (almost 2 hours) is why no one ever took up the challenge...

If there's still interest in the community for it, then I can certainly take a look.

hopefully sega release a better quality version at some point. it would be a great unlockable for Shenmue HD.
